Budget office furniture doesn’t mean poor-quality office furniture. While you may find some duds among IKEA’s dozens of different office chairs, most of them offer excellent comfort and support. 

The biggest problem you’re likely to face is simply finding an IKEA near you. There are only 50 locations across the entire United States and 62 in Canada. But once you make it, the adventure begins. Up until a few years ago, Steelcase catered primarily to large offices and relied on a network of dealers to sell and distribute its products. Although its website feels a little clunkier than I’d prefer, its development team has been quick to improve and make changes. I’ve shopped at Best Buy for years, and I love how easy everything is to navigate, both online and in-store. I also appreciate the company’s support staff (AKA, the Geek Squad). This group of support agents is always friendly and ready to help you find anything you need. That said, you may want to be wary of the sales staff, who earn commission-like bonuses and can be a little pushy in-store. Branch is one of my favorite places to buy office furniture. Its simple selection boasts fantastic quality and affordable pricing. Although the company only manufactures three chairs, they all feature supportive frames constructed from high-grade materials. First up, there’s the Daily Chair. This is a small office chair with moderate adjustability, a mesh back, and a padded seat. Then there’s the Task Chair, a breathable mid-back model with adjustable lumbar support.
