Best Wireless Mice

The 10 Best Wireless Mice for Flexible Work & Gaming

It’s 2022, folks. You don’t have to chain yourself to the computer anymore. Wireless technology (particularly Bluetooth) has come a long way in recent years, making it possible to break those corded bonds and start mousing on your terms.

If you’re unsure whether upgrading is right for you, think about all the ways you can use the best wireless mouse. Maybe you bring it to work for a minimal, modern setup. Perhaps you sync it with your gaming PC for snag-free movement. Since it’s so portable, you could even take your mouse to the local coffee shop for hassle-free scrolling on your tablet. No matter how you use technology, wireless mice have you covered with a speedy and responsive experience that rivals — and even outperforms — their wired counterparts.

If you’re ready to declutter and simplify your setup, join me as we scroll down this list of excellent wireless peripherals.

How We Evaluated These Wireless Mice

At SitWorkPlay, we’re all about showcasing products that provide a reliable and ergonomic experience. That’s why I put today’s top wireless mice through a series of tests, researching and physically inspecting units to find the most performative options. Here are the criteria I used to judge the contenders:

1. Wireless Performance – Although wireless capabilities have come a long way in recent years, cord-free mice still vary in signal strength and consistency. That’s why I began by analyzing each mouse’s Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz chipsets, as well as overall battery life and sensor tracking performance.

2. Comfort – Most office users spend 10 hours per day working at their computers, and your mouse should remain comfortable throughout that entire span, accommodating different-size hands and grip styles without sacrificing support.

3. Componentry – Like the best wireless keyboards, wireless mice feature a matrix of buttons, internal switches, and complex circuitry that must remain stable and consistent over years of daily use. Although the team at SitWorkPlay can’t physically test for overall longevity, we consult hundreds of user reviews to ensure long-term performance.

4. Versatility – Wireless mice should work on multiple platforms, supporting today’s most popular operating systems and workflows. That’s why every option on this list includes Bluetooth (except for the Logitech LIGHTSPEED and Microsoft Sculpt) and 2.4 GHz connections when applicable.

5. Features – Mice come with all kinds of extra features, including software-customizable keybinds, RGB lighting, and sensitivities. The ideal mouse should offer a personalized experience that suits your unique taste.

After eliminating dozens of models, I was left with the following list. These represent the creme of the crop, the best wireless mice your hard-earned money can buy in 2021.

After reviewing dozens of options, I can confidently say that the Logitech MX Master 3 is among the best wireless mice available. But I didn’t always feel that way. I mean, look at the bizarre, two-pronged form factor — it doesn’t exactly win any design awards. What’s more, the heavy 141-gram shell seemed like it would be far too cumbersome for most users. But as I discovered, these features were carefully planned out – the strange shape cradles your hand like a custom-fitted glove, and the heavier profile adds durability while housing powerful technology under its shell.

Take the Darkfield™ sensor, for instance. I like to compare it to an all-terrain vehicle, as the built-in laser tracks its location and moves smoothly across laminate, wood, and even glass desktops like it’s on a luxury mousepad. Meanwhile, the MagSpeed™ Electromagnetic scroll wheel offers both precision scrolling and free-spinning functionality, and you can swap between them with a tap. Then there’s my favorite part of all, which is Logitech’s workflow-enhancing software. The MX Master 3 lets you switch from device to device and even bring your files along for the ride.

The Logitech MX Master 3 is more than a wireless mouse. It’s an all-in-one device that will take your multi-platform work endeavors to new heights.

Pros

  • Compatible with Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, and more
  • MagSpeed™ Electromagnetic scroll wheel supports precision or free-wheel movement
  • 500 mAh Li-Po battery offers roughly two months on a single charge via USB Type-C connector

Cons

  • Quite heavy at 141 grams
  • 125 Hz polling rate and ~20ms response time don’t work as well in competitive gaming

Best Budget Wireless Mouse: Logitech Pebble M350

  • Weight: 73 grams
  • Best for: Smaller budgets
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Return Period: 30 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz USB receiver
  • Starts at an affordable $30 price point and often goes on sale for $20
  • Features a no-frills design with a slim, forward-slanting frame for enhanced ergonomics

Discover more about the Pebble M350 from Logitech at these online retailers.

The Logitech Pebble M350 is like the perfect skipping stone. It’s small, smooth to the touch, and fits in your hand just right — the ideal option for gliding atop the water (or, in this case, your desktop).

If you have a simple setup or travel often, the Pebble 350 is a dream mouse on a dream budget. Although it MSRPs at $30, you’ll routinely find the mouse on sale for closer to $20 (especially if you’re willing to go with a less popular color option like pink). During my evaluation, I found that it works as well as a mouse twice the price, tracking easily and offering quiet clicks suitable for every environment.

Just keep in mind that the Pebble isn’t well-suited for gaming or intensive workspaces. It only comes with three buttons total and doesn’t even include adjustable DPI. Instead, it’s locked in a 1,000 DPI, which heavy users may find slow or awkward.

Pros

  • Choose from four pretty pastel color variants
  • Lasts for 18 months on a single AA battery
  • Quiet switches and scroll wheel work well in every environment

Cons

  • Non-adjustable DPI remains at 1,000
  • Lacks a rechargeable battery

Best Wireless Gaming Mouse: Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless

  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 11
  • Weight: 114 grams
  • Best for: Wireless gaming
  • Warranty: 2 Years

Highlights
  • Connects via Logitech LIGHTSPEED™ 2.4 GHz USB receiver
  • HERO 25K sensor and 1,000 Hz polling rate deliver a swift ~10ms response time
  • Enjoy small pops of color across the mouse with LIGHTSYNC RGBs

Discover more about the G502 LIGHTSPEED Wireless from Logitech at these online retailers.

If you’ve read SitWorkPlay’s gaming mice guide, you’ll know that the Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED is our favorite gaming-oriented model overall. It also happens to be wireless, cementing its usefulness as a powerful yet versatile weapon in all your favorite titles.

I’m particularly impressed by Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless capabilities, which provide a ~10ms response time. Combined with the 1ms report rate, every in-game action registers near-instantaneously, in a fraction of the time it takes to blink. The G502 also feels quite good in the hand (although it’s a little on the heavier side), with an ergonomic grip that keeps you in the game for hours at a time.

The primary issue with the G502 is its lack of Bluetooth connectivity. It requires an empty USB slot, and you won’t be able to sync with your mobile phone or tablet. However, I find this a small tradeoff when you consider LIGHTSPEED’s record-setting performance.

Pros

  • Mechanical buttons offer tactile, responsive actuation
  • Ergonomic grip feels exceptional in small and large hands
  • POWERPLAY technology lets you pair with Logitech’s specialty mousepad for wireless charging

Cons

  • Does not support Bluetooth connectivity
  • Lackluster RGB illumination limited to the logo area

Best Budget Wireless Gaming Mouse: Corsair Harpoon Wireless

At A Glance
  • Price: $49.99
  • Maximum DPI: 10,000
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 6
  • Weight: 99 grams
  • Best for: Wireless gaming on a budget
  • Warranty: 2 Years
  • Return Period: 30 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth or Corsair SLIPSTREAM 2.4 GHz USB receiver
  • Corsair SLIPSTREAM USB receiver responds in under 10ms from initial press
  • Optical Pixart PMW3325 sensor offers reliable mouse tracking for the price

Discover more about the Harpoon Wireless from Corsair at these online retailers.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time with the Corsair Harpoon, and I’ve found it to be the best wireless mouse for budget gaming. I know that many in the gaming community disagree, preferring the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED instead. But during my testing, the Harpoon won out with a faster ~10ms response time and a Bluetooth option that connects to tablets and mobile devices.

The Corsair Harpoon MSRPs at $49.99, but you’ll find it closer to $40 on Amazon and in big-box retailers — a steal if you ask me. The price point is especially tantalizing when you factor in the industry-standard PixArt PMW3325 sensor and responsive Omron switches that respond with a tactile click.

My biggest complaint with that Corsair Harpoon is the RGB. It comes with single-zone LEDs that only illuminate the logo. What’s more, the battery life only lasts 40 hours with LEDs active, meaning you’ll be swapping out batteries left and right.

Pros

  • Tactile Omron switches last up to 50 million clicks
  • Customize lighting effects and keybinds with Corsair’s iCUE software
  • Durable ABS shell ensures a long-lasting experience (backed by Corsair’s excellent 2-year warranty)

Cons

  • Single-zone RGB only illuminates the Corsair logo
  • Eats batteries, lasting just 40 hours with RGB illumination

Best Wireless Mouse For Mac: Apple Magic Mouse

At A Glance
  • Price: $79
  • Maximum DPI: 1,300
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 1
  • Weight: 100 grams
  • Best for: macOS users
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Return Period: 14 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth
  • Sleek white and silver design features Apple’s iconic, minimal branding
  • Swipe your fingers atop the Magic Mouse to jump around your browser with Apple’s Multi-Touch functionality

Discover more about the Magic Mouse from Apple at these online retailers.

Apple does a fantastic job keeping its users within a single ecosystem. The Apple Magic Mouse is an excellent example, blending the brand’s iconic silver and white design with built-in tools that make navigating your Mac that much easier.

If you’re familiar with Multi-Touch controls, you already know what I mean. If not, it’s pretty simple: you simply place your fingers atop the Magic Mouse’s acrylic shell and begin swiping in different directions to scroll down or across web pages and apps. Once you get the hang of it, Multi-Touch speeds up your workflow and makes for a more ergonomic, intuitive mousing experience. Although I am a little disappointed by the mouse’s lackluster 30ms+ response time, most non-designers should rarely (if ever) notice any lag.

Pros

  • Aluminum and acrylic craftsmanship offers a durable foundation
  • Ambidextrous design works well for right- and left-handed users
  • Rechargeable battery lasts around one month per 3-hour charge

Cons

  • High click latency takes over 30ms to respond
  • Lightning Charge port is on the bottom of the mouse, making it impossible to charge during use

Best Wireless Mouse for Windows: Microsoft Arc Mouse

At A Glance
  • Price: $59.99
  • Maximum DPI: 1,800
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 2
  • Weight: 82 grams
  • Best for: Windows users
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Return Period: 30 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth
  • Adaptable design arcs upwards while working and snaps flat for travel
  • Microsoft BlueTrack ensures excellent accuracy across soft, hard, and even glass surfaces

Discover more about the Arc Mouse from Microsoft at these online retailers.

The Arc Mouse is Microsoft’s response to its arch-rival’s Magic Mouse. Although Microsoft has long been considered a second-rate imitator, I’ve found the Microsoft Arc Mouse to be surprisingly sophisticated. Yes, it does copy the same Gesture Control functionality as the Magic Mouse, but it also includes some innovative features.

Among my favorite features is the unique snapping design, which goes from curved to flat in a split second. Enjoy the curved ergonomic form factor as you glide around with excellent accuracy, courtesy of Microsoft’s proprietary BlueTrack technology. When you’re all finished working, simply press down and snap it shut. The slim design and lightweight 82-gram profile make Microsoft’s Arc incredibly portable and a great travel companion for business trips and commuter rides.

Although I’m a fan of Microsoft’s BlueTrack accuracy, I dislike the mouse’s low 125 Hz polling rate and maximum 1,800 DPI. Still, my analysis shows that the mouse responds within 50ms, which is just a little over the Magic Mouse and still suitable for most users.

Pros

  • Flattens down to a minuscule 0.5″ for easy transport
  • Sleek single-color profile takes minimalism to a new level
  • Gesture controls help you navigate browsers and software with ease

Cons

  • Lack visible buttons or a scroll wheel
  • Comes with a low polling rate and maximum DPI

Best Multipurpose Wireless Mouse: Razer Naga Pro

  • Maximum DPI: 20,000
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 20
  • Weight: 117 grams
  • Best for: Gaming, work, studying
  • Warranty: 2 Years
  • Return Period: 14 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth or Razer™ HyperSpeed
  • Swappable side plates support three, six, or 12 programmable buttons
  • Attain a best-in-class 5ms response time with Razer’s HyperSpeed technology

Discover more about the Naga Pro from Razer at these online retailers.

Although the Razer Naga Pro is marketed as a gaming mouse, I’ve found that it provides an exceptional wireless experience for everything from gaming to work to studying and research. But before I start bragging about its performance, I feel compelled to mention a glaring weakness: its size. Seriously, the Naga is a massive mouse, measuring a whopping 1.7″ tall. While my average-size hands don’t mind such bulkiness, women and men with more petite appendages may want to look elsewhere.

Of course, the Naga’s Achilles heel is also its greatest strength. The large form factor houses powerful technology like Razer™ HyperSpeed, which transforms the Naga into a snapping viper capable of reaching best-in-class 5ms response times. The Naga is also the most versatile mouse around, with three swappable side plates. Change the plates around to go from three to six to 12 programmable side buttons that’ll help you navigate your gaming or work tasks faster than ever before.

Pros

  • Features an impressive 150 hours of battery life per charge
  • RAZER FOCUS+ tracks like a pro, with 99.6% resolution accuracy
  • Razer software lets you customize keybinds and RGB lighting effects

Cons

  • Bulky design measures 1.7″ tall
  • Crammed side buttons lead to occasional mistakes

Best Ergonomic Wireless Mouse: Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic

At A Glance
  • Price: $46.67
  • Maximum DPI: 1,000
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 4
  • Weight: 100 grams
  • Best for: Ergonomics
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Return Period: 30 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via 2.4 GHz receiver
  • Ergonomic shape supports your wrist in an optimal handshake-like position
  • Windows key opens up the Start Menu with a single click

Discover more about the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse from Microsoft at these online retailers.

Vertical mice are growing ever-more popular as the shift to healthier, more ergonomic workstations becomes mainstream. While vertical mice are quite supportive, they’re also strangely designed and challenging to use. I always like to take a balanced approach when trying something new, which is why I recommend the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic, a hybrid between standard and vertical variants.

The Sculpt features a slope-like, circular design that resembles a pudgy little mouse. Alongside the thumb-rest ledge, this design encourages a handshake-like posture that reduces strain and risk of injury. The easy-access buttons also minimize hand movement: the Windows button opens the Start Menu with a thumb press, while the four-way scroll wheel moves swiftly through every page with a single click.

My primary complaint with the Sculpt is its lack of Bluetooth support. To use the Sculpt, you’ll need to sync with a large 1″ wireless dongle and give up one of your precious USB slots.

Pros

  • Excellent side grip feels extremely comfortable
  • Works on most common desktop surfaces (except for glass)
  • Responsive scroll wheel includes workflow-enhancing four-way scrolling

Cons

  • Non-rechargeable batteries last a maximum of six months
  • Lacks Bluetooth, and the USB dongle is relatively large at ~1″

Best Wireless Mouse With Trackball: Kensington Expert Wireless

At A Glance
  • Price: $109.99
  • Maximum DPI: 400
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 4
  • Weight: 392 grams
  • Best for: Trackball users, ergonomics
  • Warranty: 3 Years
  • Return Period: 30 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz USB receiver
  • DiamondEye™ Optical Tracking ensures overall accuracy
  • Trackball and Scroll Ring offer a novel way to control your cursor and webpages

Discover more about the Expert Wireless from Kensington at these online retailers.

While I’m not a big fan of trackball mice, some users swear by them. Out of all the options on the market, users consistently praise the Kensington Expert Wireless for its overall accuracy and superior accessibility. While I’m still not convinced it’s worth making the swap, I do know that the Kensington’s hands-on frame cradles your wrist with utmost support and pillow-like cushioning. The unique design is also ambidextrous, making it a suitable option for most users.

In terms of performance, I also love Kensington’s four surface buttons, programmable via KensingtonWorks™ software. While two extra buttons may seem like an insignificant detail, it makes accessing standard controls extremely simple. Meanwhile, the Trackball and Scroll Ring perform flawlessly, amplified by a DiamondEye™ sensor that enhances overall accuracy. Just don’t expect your actions to move as quickly as you like. While the 100ms response time won’t be an issue for most users, gamers and designers should steer clear.

Pros

  • Detachable, cushioned wrist rest provides excellent (and ambidextrous) ergonomics
  • Sturdy build quality is backed by one of the industry’s top warranties
  • KensingtonWorks™ lets you personalize the mouse’s four buttons with custom commands

Cons

  • Quite heavy at 392 grams; not suitable for travel
  • One of the worst wireless latencies around; exceeds 100ms

Best Ambidextrous Wireless Mouse: Razer Atheris

At A Glance
  • Price: $49.99
  • Maximum DPI: 7,200
  • Connectivity: Wireless
  • Buttons: 6
  • Weight: 66 grams
  • Best for: Right- and left-handed users
  • Warranty: 2 Years
  • Return Period: 14 Days
  • Shipping: Free
Highlights
  • Connects via Bluetooth or Razer’s AFT 2.4 GHz USB receiver
  • Ambidextrous design supports both right-handed and left-handed users
  • PixArt PMW3330 sensor offers mid-range gaming-grade tracking

Discover more about the Atheris from Razer at these online retailers.

I’ve already featured a few ambidextrous mice on this list, but the Razer Atheris is my favorite overall. That’s not a slight to the others — it’s just that the Atheris boasts a familiar form factor and also comes with two side buttons accessible by righties and lefties alike.

Aside from its ambidextrous form factor, I also enjoy how small the Atheris is. It measures just 2.5″ by 4″ and, without batteries, weighs in at 66 grams. Snap it around your desktop while gaming, enjoying the light weight, adjustable DPI, and PixArt PMW3330 sensor. Or, slow things down for pinpoint precision while painting a masterpiece in Photoshop. Just be aware some users dislike smaller peripherals, and it’s probably ill-suited for larger hands.

The other important note is that the Razer Atheris is not the Razer Naga. It’s not rechargeable, and it doesn’t boast the same Razer™ HyperSpeed technology. That said, Razer’s AFT 2.4 GHz is nothing to sneeze at, and you can also use Bluetooth when USB ports aren’t an option.

Pros

  • Adjustable DPI supports various movement speeds
  • Small, minimal design blends in anywhere and travels easily
  • Silicone side grips resemble circuitry and help you keep a hold on the mouse

Cons

  • Requires two AA batteries
  • Some users find the 2.5″ x 4″ dimensions too small
